Today's workforce is more diverse than ever. With the generational diversity in South Florida workplaces and in workplaces across the United States today, four different generations must not just coexist, but collaborate, cooperate and work effectively together. Each group brings a distinct set of beliefs, values and attitudes to work, where they clash. Disagreements, misunderstandings, frustrations and "clashpoints" can arise because people from different generations have different work and communications styles, different views of authority, and different expectations abut the employer-employee relationship.
Through her real world experience and extensive research into multi-generational leadership, Alicia Blain will share with you the blueprint she has designed to help organizations build a bridge and close the gap between all the generations in the workplace. Using real world stories, Alicia will help you understand your workforce’s generational makeup, the unique filters they come to work with and the steps you can take to understand them and significantly increase communication and collaboration among them. The framework she shares will help you strengthen your impact on your organization’s results.

About our presenter:
Alicia Blain has over 25 years of executive management experience. For the past six years, she has had hands-on, in the trenches, experience managing our newest employees and the source of much frustration for many: the Millennials – individuals born in 1978 and beyond.
Alicia knows how to successfully lead a cohesive and productive team. She is currently the Vice President of Corporate Technology for Visa Inc.’s Latin America & Caribbean Region. Her team supports over 450 employees in Miami and 4 offices in Latin America. Under her leadership, the region has pioneered many strategic initiatives starting years ago where millions in additional revenues were generated with the first regional data warehouse, and most recently by saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in infrastructure costs by being the first to introduce server virtualization.
Along the way, she stumbled onto her secret weapon: the unleashing of the Millennials in their work habitat. This has been both a great accomplishment and her greatest source of stress!!! In addition to her day job at Visa, she speaks all over the country bridging the gap between the Boomer and the Millennial generations. Yes, folks, there actually is a bridge between the two. As a certified master coach, she has helped hundreds of professionals of all generations build their own bridge and use this unceasing energy source to full advantage.
Alicia earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from Fordham University in New York. She went on to receive an M.B.A. in Finance and International Economics from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg School of Management. She serves on the board of several organizations in South Florida, including IT Women and Florida International University’s Masters of MIS Program.
Alicia’s claim to fame was receiving her first media mention at the age of 21 when she was mugged in NY and chased the mugger and brought him to justice. Yes, folks - she mugged the mugger!!
