Hard Truths for Hard Times was a February 10th headline for an article in the Wall Street Journal. The article focused on some job-hunting realities that apply to anyone who will endure a loss of employment triggered by the current state of the economy.
A Miami Condo Forum online posting, in response to a Miami Herald article entitled “Florida ranks No. 2 in job losses in 2008”, stated that Florida’s unemployment rate has zipped past the moon. The Sunshine State lost 255,200 jobs in 2008 and the unemployment rate just rose to 8.1% from 7.4% in just one month.
If you are concerned about becoming unemployed, are searching for a job or are considering a career change, you don’t want to miss this program. A panel of highly qualified professionals will field questions, share their perspectives and identify helpful resources.
