In this program, Debbie McMullian will give us a brief overview of Workforce Florida. She will also help us to understand how this state agency can help South Florida businesses to access available funds that can be used for:
• Training existing workers;
• Skills upgrade training;
• Customized training;
• Training programs for new jobs being created within a company
Finally, she will give us an introduction to:
• Quick Response Training program
• Incumbent Worker Training program
• Local Employee Worker Training program
• How Workforce Florida prepares the workforce for future jobs
• Other services available through the local workforce board and one-stop centers.

About our Presenter

Debbie Debbie McMullian has nearly 20 years of workforce experience, including 10 years of service to Florida’s workforce system. Her experience includes stints at the Florida Panhandle Private Industry Council and the Chipola Regional Workforce Development Board. Her expertise includes workforce and economic development as well as project management.
Debbie has been with Workforce Florida since its inception in 2000, and currently serves as the Quick Response Training Program Manager. She is responsible for all contract-management and accountability functions as well as outreach efforts for the $12 million state grant initiative.
In addition to Quick Response Program management, Debbie works closely with rural counties as the appointed Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) representative for Workforce Florida. As the REDI representative she is well-informed on rural county issues and Florida’s three Rural Areas of Critical Economic Concern.
Debbie is a graduate of the Sorrell College of Business at Troy State University, and Georgia Institute of Technology’s Economic Development Institute, Business Retention and Expansion. She received her Associate’s degree in Business at Chipola Junior College and also has completed economic development coursework through the Texas A&M University system.
